Díaz Bessone: Slaughter of the Surgentes
Four new evidence was presented Wednesday in the trial for the sake Díaz Bessone, which carries out the Federal Court 2 (TOF2) of Rosario, where they are being tried for crimes against humanity committed in the service Information (SI) of police in Rosario during the last dictatorship. Among the highlights were reminded of the slaughter of the springs, in which seven clandestine detention center led by Augustine Feced were killed at dawn of October 17, 1976 in this small town near Cordoba.
The valuable testimonies that were presented on Wednesday, was provided by Maria Ines Oyarzabal brothers, Francisco Oyarzabal, who declared for the disappearance of his brother Jose Antonio, Inés Paulone, which featured the story of the disappearance of his brother Pedro, and Eduardo Sguiglia, who testified for the the disappearance of his friend Osvaldo Matowsky.
Brothers and friend brought four witnesses of a great emotional content. Perhaps the highest point of the day, it gave Francisco the "Basque" Oyarzabal, who gave a detailed account of the desperate search of Joseph, who will make his family and himself (see special note of this Sunday, which expand is history.)
José Antonio Oyarzabal, was one of seven SI missing detainees who were taken out of that secret detention center, brought to Surgentes, killed and then hidden their bodies, which was often inscribed forever in the memory of the fight impunity in the city.
The so-called "slaughter of Los Surgentes" occurred the morning of October 17, 1976, when members of the gang of seven young women pulled SI arrested and taken to the town of Los Surgentes Cordoba, where they were shot, on a rural road. The victims of the slaughter were Maria Cristina Marquez Cristina Costanzo Analía Murgiondo, Sergio Abdo Khalil, Eduardo Felipe Laus, Daniel Oscar Barjacoba, and José Antonio Oyarzun.
Data on the cause
In Orono Boulevard to 900 are sitting on the dock the former commander of the Second Army Corps, Ramon Genaro Diaz Bessone, a former police Fiego Rosario José Rubén Lo, Rito Ramón Vergara, Mario Marchetto and José Carlos Alfredo Scortechini; and civil Ricardo Miguel Chomicky.
The crimes that are prosecuted are illegal deprivation of liberty, murder and torture in many cases, while all are charged with conspiracy.
Defendants formed part of the repressive appliance operated between 1976 and 1979 in the then Service Information (SI) of police in Rosario, the clandestine detention center of the southern province of Santa Fe
According to statements by a former military performed for the illegal repression, in that place spent at least 1,800 detainees-disappeared.
SI worked with the chamfer of Dorrego and San Lorenzo, in the heart of this city, in an old building where he was for years the Police Headquarters of Rosario, now housing the local headquarters of the Interior.
This part of the cause Díaz Bessone was elevated to trial, has 91 victims of terrorism State and more than 160 witnesses who will share their stories about what happened in the SI during the first year of the last dictatorship.
The TOF 2 is composed of judges Otmar Paulucci, Beatrice Knight and Jorge Venegas Echagüe aground, while the prosecution team that carries out the accusation is made by Gonzalo and Mario Gambacorta Stara.
